I spotted this kooka baby and his sibling in a gum in Sydney a while back. It was the middle of summer and the cicadas were deafening. I watched his dutiful parents carefully watching, then swooping down on cicadas, snatching them out of mid-air to take them back to their noisy, impatient and hungry fledglings - a wonderful sight to see!
 
This is an original 6 x 6 inch ink on scratchboard work, finished in a black timber float frame without glass (18 x 18 cm). The art panel has been sprayed with several coats of U.V resistant, non-yellowing, archival quality varnish to help protect it. If required, a dry, soft, lint-free cloth may be used to gently dust the artwork.
