A friend led me to a special local park bursting with these purple donkey orchids (Diuris punctata) - what a sight for sore eyes! It was the first time I'd come across this orchid and although it's named so because of the large donkey ear-like petals, to me they look like tiny dancing fairies with beautiful big wings and a frilly skirt!
 
This is an original 6 x 12 inch ink on scratchboard work, finished in a beautiful black timber frame without glass (23 x 39 cm). The art panel has been sprayed with several coats of U.V resistant, non-yellowing, archival quality varnish to help protect it. If required, a dry, soft, lint-free cloth may be used to gently dust the artwork.
