On a hike in the Weddin Mountains National Park, we came across a carpet of these beautiful little orchids down in a gully at the end of the trail, it was quite incredible! The fascinating dainty bird-orchid produces a scent that mimics the female of their wasp pollinator. This lures the male in, thinking he's found a new mate, but alas! the plant has used him to deposit pollen onto, which he'll carry on to the next orchid, enabling pollination - tricky little plant indeed!
